DraftWesleyClark.com Holds Clark ’04 MeetUps in Nearly 100 Cities; America “Feels a Draft.”

(Washington, DC) – DraftWesleyClark.com, the largest effort to draft former General Wesley Clark for President, announced that local Clark supporters met last night in nearly 100 “MeetUps” across America (92 confirmed so far).

“We are the third largest Presidential candidate MeetUp group – and we don’t even have a candidate,” said John Hlinko, co-leader of DraftWesleyClark.com. “General Clark is already running a strong third in the ‘Grassroots Primary.’ If he enters the race, and America gets to see him first-hand, we have no doubt he’ll move to the head of the class.”

The group’s MeetUp success mirrors its success on other indicators of grassroots enthusiasm. According to the "Lycos 50 Daily Report," the number of people searching for Clark is third among all "candidates.” And, according to Alexa.com, DraftWesleyClark.com is second in traffic among all “candidate” sites.

“We had 13 people at our first MeetUp, and we thought we might double the number for this one,” said Joe Rubio, East Bay Coordinator for DraftWesleyClark.com. “But in the end, we had 50. People just kept pouring in. Something truly incredible has been unleashed here.”
